Returns Policy

Customers have the ability to return or exchange items they have purchased from Western Mountain Sports. There are. however, very specific terms and guidelines for different types of products that are sold on  Our returns policy has been broken down into 4 sections:  General, Firearms, Regular Merchandise, and Received Wrong Item(s). Please read below for detailed information regarding when a return is permissible, store credit, and restrictions. Contact if you have any questions about the RMA process or a specific return.


  • Customers have 30 days to return or exchange Regular Merchandise purchased from Western Mountain Sports.
  • Western Mountain Sports may issue cash refunds for certain items purchased at  Customers that request a return or exchange may receive store credit for the cost of the returned/exchanged items, or a refund of the purchase price (minus any fees).
  • Store credit is added to the customers online account and can be used for the purchase of any item on Western Mountain Sports’ web store. 
  • All returns of General Merchandise must be mailed USPS Priority Mail. 
  • Firearms may be returned utilizing whatever method is least expensive to the customer.


  • Firearms may be returned prior to your completing the transfer process with your local dealer.
  • Firearms may only be returned for physical or mechanical defects (excluding items listed as Blemished) 
  • Once the transfer has been completed, customers may not return firearms for any reason and are required to contact the manufacturer of their firearm(s) concerning any defects. 
  • Firearms may only be returned in exchange for an identical firearm (Brand, Model). 
  • The customer is responsible for return postage. 

Regular Merchandise:

  • Regular Merchandise is used to classify all items not considered by the ATF as firearms or items that are otherwise serialized.
  • Returns are only allowed on all unopened items that are in their original packaging. 
  • There is a minimum $10 restocking fee on all return shipments of unopened items. 
  • Exchanges are only allowed on items that are defective or in cases where the customer mistakenly orders the wrong item.  When the wrong product has been ordered, customers will be charged (or refunded) the difference in cost between items.
  • All defective items must be exchanged for the same New Condition item. If the same item is not available, one of equal value can be selected, or store credit will be applied to the customer’s account. 
  • Returns are to be shipped USPS Priority Mail.  
  • The customer is responsible for all return postage (Reimbursement for postage is determined on a case by case basis).  In cases where a customer ordered the wrong item, the customer is responsible for all shipping charges (return and shipping of new item).  The customer will also be charged (or refunded) the difference in cost of the item.  Customers may also use differences in price to offset shipping costs of the replacement item. 
  • All replacements for defective items will be shipped at no additional cost to the customer. 

Received Wrong Items: 

  • A return is allowed, and all incorrect items will be replaced with the original items ordered. 
  • Customers are responsible for return postage.  Customers will be reimbursed the cost of postage in the form of store credit or debit equal to the cost of shipping to their credit/debit card used during the original transaction on 
  • The correct items will be shipped at no additional cost. 
  • An additional $5 in store credit or debit will be credited to the customers account.
